Why there has been no updates.....!

Well, I have been painting something. About 7 chosens done, 3 halfway done, 5 more greytards done and started on my WP convertion. But the real reason is that WoW Cataclysm came out. Its the best expansion yet tbh. Finaly thing is abit challenging again and not the aoe faceroll of wrath. Thank u Blizzard! I rerolled a paladin, wich was confusing as im the GM, so I talked blizzard into giviing me a free name change on the paladin! wuhu! Got most of the bis gear both for tanking and ret b4 raids, and got my first raid epic. Now its soon to be xmas and im hoping to play alot of warhammer then! got 13 missile launchers incomming soon aswell, just for tournaments sake.

Pictures of the new models

So, this is what I have done the last weeks. a grey hunter squad and 2 PF wolf guards, missing some shoulderpads but thats becouse I went out of the ragnars company pads, will get some more as soon as my order arrives. 1 razorback with lascanon/hb 40 greatswords done and 20 swordsmen. repainting old stuff sux, but im pleased enough with the result of it. Good enough for my gaming top standard I say!

So what have I been doing on the geeky front the last weeks

So almost a month since my last update! Ive done some painting tho. Managed to complete the 40man big greatsword unit, aswell as 20 swordsmen and 4 greyhunters +1 Wolf Guard w PF! Not that bad to be honest. Still got a lot of painting to do before I can justify any new purchases. I’ll try and update more often as it is better for myself to record my progress if I do. Next up will be another 5 man squad of GH and then ill start on the outriders. I realy love their background and the way they behave on the battlefield. Considering they can dish out 15 shots a turn they are realy good for protecting the artillery from small units. The only downside is that they cannot move and fire, but tbh you will know before hand if your machines are gonna be hunted by skirmishers/small flyers. So a smart position in round 1 is adviced. Then after the threat has been dealt with you can move them around to support/threat other things. Now why use them instead of the more mobile pistoliers? Well it realy depends on your playstyle aswell. I prefer to have the range, and the option to be mobile. Its easier for flyers to outrange the pistoliers, with their 8” range instead of 24” u get less shots, at BS3 instead of 4. And they are way cooler then pistoliers! So that’s why Im gonna make me a unit of outriders!

So what have I been doing besides painting on the geeky front? Well ive played about 5 games of warhammer 40k. My Space Wolves vs Eldar. It went very good for the spacewolves, theres many a reason for that, my main reason being aleks needs to stop tossing an average of 2 on 30 dices, and I need to stop tossing an average of 5 on 30 dices. Not that much to do about it, but there’s something we can do. We play with loads of terrain, but none of it is blocking LOS. My army can take a lot of beating, while eldars realy cant. So next time we will keep the woods as los blockers, up the scale on some craters(shouldn’t be to hard with a little imagination and some *forgot the name on the stuff shit* that would make positioning and moving abit more important. So that its easier for him to single out me, and its harder for the OP(yes their crazy imo, I can see why people would field 3x5 of these guys, but its boring so care) LongFangs a harder time to hit things. Anyway, its our first games of 40k, we need time to learn rules and other things. Our lists the last time where 1400 pts and they looked something like this:

Yes, none of the lists are optimized for tournament play, but that is not the point either. Wielding 5x3 LF with missile spam of doom sounds a lot like playing a shooty dwarf army.. boring in other words…

Done lots

Soo, my cellphone camera doesnt work that well in teh dark, so no pictures as of yet, but I will fill them in tomorrow. As of now ive done 40 halberds, 20 greatswords - arms and started to paint and flock the RoB, it looks quite nice, altho on the last tiles ill add in more glue as it didnt stick as good as I was hoping. Nothing that cant be easely fixed so ill prob do that tomorrow. Got some parts from maelstrom, 40k basing git, a new wood and some other bits! So after my Empire army is done ill continiue on my Space Wolf army, need to paint away those lines, it looks horrible up close but good from far away, but i like it to be abit tidy from up close rather then far away.

So here we go, the board is finished alongside som halberds and greatswords(arms/swords finished but out of glue so..)

My Empire army

So, just to show the world(if there are any readers at all besides me) what The Empire project realy is about this is it:

Basicly there's about 20 almost finished and 20 missing their halberds. The rest needs some new paint. I have about: 80 Statetroops with halberds, 40 with sword/shield 30 with spears, 30 handgunners, 20 xbows, 30 Reiksguards, 11 white wolf(no idea where the last one has gone:/) 40 greatswords, 12 teutogen guards,25 Flagellants, 10 pistoliers, 2 cannons, 2 hellstorm, 2 helblaster, 2 mortars and tons of heroes. After(if ever) all these are painted I plan to add a stank and most likely all of the special characters. Im planning on getting my hands on one of the isle of blood griffon and make a Karl Franz model out of that one. Just hoping that those pesky elven legs can be fiddled away from the griffons body without to much work.If everything goes as planned im gonna get atleast 40 done a week. This mainly depends on how much efford it is in repainting the old ones. this week im done almost done with 40 without to much efford. Gonna do a testdrive with it tomorrow against VC, not quite sure what im gonna try out first.

Bored of painting Empire

So I got abit bored about all the 200 statetroops and had a little afair with this Reiksguard statue. I got about 50 knights, dont need half of 'em, so I thought I should put one of them to better use then shelf dusting!

Still got some details left to do, flowers,shields etc. But im quite happy with it as it is right now to be honest.

Realms of battle!

Got a call from our local shop today(Outland) that my realms of battle board had arrived! wuhu! no more green-boring-matt of doom!



Ive also managed to finish 20 halberdier bodies, so ill try and finish the arms and weapons later on. This weekend we are gonna play warhammer and CoC. I'll be bringing my chaos list I think. Cant be arsed to repack the dwarfs. I think i will try out the 9 attack asf jugger/horse riding khorne lord, or 8 asf tz lord. I can see how he can take out a templeguard unit and a slann in 2 rounds with a bit lucky dispelling and a scroll. he has 1+AS and 5 (or 4) Ward save. so he should survive most things or kill the things before they can kill him. Well, off to work and my realms of battle board.

won the deal! And playing CoC

I won the auction! Now i got about 150 models to paint, and 150 models++ to repaint>_< oh the pain! Im gonna convert all my old empire (black/red) to Altdorf colours. Pictures will be comming when I managed to drag myself to my mate and borrow his camera.

Sunday we played Call of Chthulhu, was a great time! We had 2 "guest" players who realy worked themself into character. Odd played an old sailor from norway that now are a doctor wich looks hideous with a broken eye, and he had a harpoon accident wich was the reason why he had to do something else but be a sailorboy.  Rikard playing a freelance journalist of somesort that reported everything we did back to some weirdo taking pictures instead of shooting down the badguys. Im not gonna retell the entire story but it kinda sums up like this: we find odd in the silver twilight lodge, we go after a missing person, we find him wich leads to another missing person, we find the leader of the silver twilight lodge chanting when we get back calling us fools, Roger then moves in to attack him, Odd missfires and shoots roger in the back, I kill the bad guy and suddenly we find loads of shit and have bought us some tickets to Scottland.

The Empire

So after playing WoC for quite a while and gotten the army painted(missing 2 chosen and some marauders) ive decided to repaint my Empire army. I've managed to loose about 50 statetroops, but I realy want to switch them out with the new ones anyway. The new moddels are realy awesome. I currently won a "bidding" round on a batallion, army deal, wizard, general box and hellblaster for about 100$. Hoping to get it the next week. The seller refused to use secure payment... So I started to wonder if it was all a scam, but since he lives near a friend of mine ive asked if he just could pick it up. Safe and easy! after that I got about 200 statetroops, wich should be enough for my new tourney build army. If im attending 2d6 challenge i hope to bring this army, kinda tired of the WoC atm, played it to death before the tournament, but got rewarded for it tho! Pics will come when I can find a decent camera!

Final Battle! WoC - Watchtower

Atm at the scoreboard we where 5! Players at the exact same amount. 1 player had 16 points more then the 5 of us. I realy wanted to play against his demon army couse all my units could actually kill that bloody 6str6 i10 regen on every wound coused keeper of secrets. Im quite impressed that no one managed to kill it. Ofc its easier said then done. But unless he is in the flank or rear of my units I think both the khorne warriors and marauders could have taken it down rather fairly. And he didn’t have much  magic defence, so actually getting mindrazor off giving me str 8 could go off if I 6 diced timed it. Anyway, I wasn’t lucky enough to get that battle so here goes the last scenario
 
So finals scenario; watch tower 1k VP for having the tower at the end. Many of the competitive players didn’t like to finish of with this random scenario. I love scenarios, and are not realy that competitive considering its my second tournament after almost 10 years of playing warhammer. Anyway I was meeting another warriors of chaos list. Against another friend! The winner of the last years tournament. Our lists are quite different. My list is better then his against someone, while his list against something else. Against each other my list has the edge imo.

Now we did 1 mistake, we didn’t know it was a core unit that had to be in the tower from the start. Nor that the rolloff winner could choose to start there or not. Either way he deployed his chosen with BSB in the tower. Now the only way he couldn’t get a 3+ward on them was to roll 4.. wich he did, the game would have looked quite different if not tbh. He gained +1str. Now we deployed the rest: him: chosen in tower in the middle

I got first turn
Khorne warriors charged the tower, knights moved up against his 12 warriors, tz wars trolls and marauders moved up as far as they could. Magic saw me nerfing the chosens ws I and shit with 3. Then I shot down 2-3 tz warriors with a bad scatter roll. My khorne warriors went first. Killing a whooping 12. In the challenge he killed my champ. Then he hit back and killed 6 or so. He managed his break test somehow. Next turn: he moved all he had upwards, his hellcanon shot at my Tz unit, misfired and rolled a 6. Str10 hit killed 3 spot on panic test passed. Not good rolling from his side, but that’s the game! He tried a 6 dice gateway wich I scrolled away. His chosen got 3+ ward from the warshrine.

Turn2
I saw a flaw in his positioning of the tz warriors. If he didn’t move them forward he would get flank charged by my warriors. Khorne warriors charged the tower again and the knights charges his 12 warrior unit. I moved my doggies upfront of his Tz warriors, either making him charge them and no magic for him, and he cant turn around due to the dogs, giving me his flank if he doesn’t charge the dogs, either way its good for me. Lets see if he takes the bait! Marauders move up to flank charge his warshrine, and go for the hellcanon together with my dogs. My troll and tz warriors nudges forward 1 inch so that if he doesn’t move his tz warriors 1 of them can flank charge. Magic: his chosens are again at i2 ws3 and that’s about it. Combat: my exalted challenges and fluffs his 5 attacks.. bah, his exalted actually manages to kill my exalted. Oh well. My other 27 attacks kills about 10 of the remaining 3 chosens. His bsb tries to hold, but rolls badly. And dies. I have the tower! Now my knights kills 5 or so of his tz warriors, none dies in return, he flees  and get run down. His turn: he notice the position of my tz warriors but fail his march move on the 15 block further back so he cant get them up and block the path. He gambles and doesn’t charge the doggies, hoping for a 6 dies gateway on my block. His exalted on disc charges my hellcanon(he should know better!) the rest moves up abit. He brandishes his warshrine flank to my marauders for some reason. Magic: he gets 4 dices iirc so does I channeling 1. He tries a 4 dice gateway I dispel it. Combat: the exalted get crushed by the hellcanon and that’s the end of turn 2. Looking good for me, very good.

Turn3 my Tz warriors flank charges his main unit. He hold. My marauders flank charges his warshrine, doggies charges his hellcanon. My troll charges his 15 warriors. I move my knights into position to help the trolls getting a rear or flank on the 15 warriors. Magic: my Tz warriors gain str 8 I regret on not miasmaing the 15 warrior unit instead, but u cant know that infront of the combat phase anyway. Shooting: skipped. Combat: I went with the marauders first. They ran the shrine down. But didn’t run far enough to get into the rear of the 15 warriors. Missing with 1 inch.. bah. The trolls took 3 wounds and killed 1 in return. Turning tails and fleeing. He rolled a double 1 iirc on the pursue. My tz warriors killed about 10 of his, none died in return. He pigtailed and I followed catching him wich basicly ended the battle. In his round he charged my 10 remaining khorne warriors in the tower. He killed 2 or so, I killed 5 winning, pushing him back out with his rear to the marauders and his flank to my knights. He conseeded then and there. No point in going 3 more turns in me just moving towards the hellcanon and he moving towards me with it. I would have killed it quite easely with my MOK marauders in 2 combat rounds. Big victory to me 20-0! We used about 15min of deployment and about 30-40 min of playtime, so we still had another 1,5+ hour left of the other games. Atm with my score I was at the first place, but looking over at the first table the winning player was wooping the OK player badly, so unless a miracle occurred I was in second or third. The table 2 game was the two DE I lost against. Me and the woc I played against went down to try out warmachine, wich was a great game! It’s a mixture of the best from mordheim and necromunda mixed together with magic. Strongly advicable to try out! We played a small demo game with some crusaders from warmachine against trolls from horde. After that we went up to get the final result..

Me and the DE was even at battle points and painting points, but he had 300ish more VP then me.. wich makes me think back to the first game where my knights died to the HE archers in combat… or the 4th game where my sorc lord and exalted died to soulstealer.. bloody hell >_< to sum up the tournament from my own side. I was very happy with the result, my woc did what it was good at. Although deployment messing scenarios doesn’t belong in a tournament imo, it costed me the game twice against DE. Their movement are way superior to mine, and their fighting abilities aint that far off either. Anyway I had a great time, meeting getting to know new people and meeting old players are always fun! Next year ill probably either use my empire army, massing close to 200 halberds Oo depending on how the comp is, but that is my main plan. 

Battle report 4: DE- Meeting engagement

Next match was against my best friend. We had hoped not to meet eachother since we have played our lists to death against each other… we are quite even in play, hence why we played the second top board with only 2 points dividing us. Deployment ruined the game again tbh. putting my hellcanon, sorc lord,exalted, trolls and Tz warriors in reserve. Im not gonna write this breport since it was a stallmate game from both of us. The match was meeting engagement, with me starting with: hellcanon tz warriors trolls sorclord, exalted and knights in reserve..lol the few moments of combat where: Tz warriors killing off black guards wich did 1 wound on the Exalted and 2 on the sorc lord. Knights killing a unit of repeaterxbows. My hellcanon killing WE wich killed marauders.. and then he actually used soulstealer and managed to KILL MY LORD and exalted.. omg… that was the only things that happened .. boring game but we both knew that was gonna happen, so we had some breaks taking a leak and things like that while the other moved :p wich gave some onlookers some weird expressions ^^ “what? Their not watching each other move? What is this sorcery!” anyway. I was happy with 12-8 altho we both expected a 10-10 untill that last round soul stealer.
His list tho, wich imo was the best comp DE list there,even tho he lost to the other DE player in the last round. Wich I also lost 12-8

Battle; blood and gory with 1000VP for breaking the enemy

My main army in 7th was dwarfs. So I know enough about this shooting to hopefully blow it through. My main concern are that he has a fair chance of shooting down my points to get the 1k victory bonus. My tz warriors aint going to die from some measly dwarven machinery tho.



He had 7 breaking points where as 3 of them where small units. I had 7 aswell although mine wasn’t so easy to get tbh. Deployment was quite unusal imo for a dwarf gunline player. Wich was good for me!

Runelord all the way behind a hill to my left, followed by a organ gun ontop of that hill then abit to the right he deployed his 2x grudge cannon and the engineer and slayers in between. In front of those he deployed 10warriors and 1x xbows, then in a line from there it was 10x xbow 10 warriors 10xbow BT and an organ gun. His main unit with the bsb deployed behind the 10warrs and xbows for some reason. I deployed my Tzwarrs and marauders to his left, leaving them as the main fodder. The reason why the marauders where there aswell was to force him to actually shoot at them instead of my khorne warriors and knights. Hoping they would draw his attention to then, I deployed the troll in the middle for the generals LD and everything else far right. My main plan was that the knights hopefully survived the first organ gun shot and got a charge on that one, then in the next turn charge the trolls and khorne warriors into the other units on that flank.



I won myself the first turn!

Everything moved forward at all haste, my magic did nothing, he broke pit of shades. And I didn’t get 1 spell off the entire fight so im not gonna mention it anymore. The hellcanon killed 7 dwarfs in his big block. His turn; nothing moved. Although he should have done it to prevent all the charging in the next round.. anyway. He killed about 10-15 marauders with the grudges, the cannon missed the trolls but the 2+ hit managed to take down 1 troll. His organ gun killed 2 marauders while the organ gun aiming at the knight killed 2. Lucky me! And his xbows killed my doggie unit to the left.

The anvil slowed the marauders and killed 0.



Turn 2

So my knights charges his organ gun, my trolls charges the xbows in the middle, my KW failed to charge his 10 warriors double 1’s so nudged them forward leaving them stranded for the cannon.

Everything else moved forward embracing for another round of hurty shooting.. my shooting, misfire and ate the crew, and the general far away.. oh well. My remaining doggie unit managed to run around his xbows and in line for a charge against his gunline.. maybe they could survive a round or 2 preventing them from shooting Combat: my knights killed his crew with ease and overrun into the boltthrower. My trolls killed 7 or so of his xbows and overran into the other xbows. His turn: miners arrived next to the dogs, he nudged his slayers forward to stand between his warriors and his gunnery. Shooting he shot down my marauders to 3 killed 2-3 khorne warriors, his canon actually shot at my hellcanon and got a wound in, imo was this a bad choice, the hellcanon has LD 4 and has to pass the rampage test to actually shoot.. He used his anvil to charge his miners into my doggies who stood. Combat, my knights killed his boltthrower and reformed, my trolls killed 7 of his xbows and overran 3” they fled a whooping 10 leaving them far off. His miners killed my doggies.



Turn 3 my KW charged his warrior GW war again, and succeded my TW charged his second warrior GW trolls and knights charged his now 14 man unit of warriors, my hellcanon rampaged after the fleeing xbows. Combat: knights and trolls killed 5 or so warriors took none in return. I should have vomited at the BSB but I forgot about that until turn 4.. my KW killed all of his warriors and overran into the miners! We did a mistake here and his grudgethrower paniced and ran off the board. But new to 8th both of us and enough new rules to remember none of us actually recalled this until my mate said so after we where done. And my TW killed 7 or so warriors and overran into the bloody slayers.. he now had 5 breaking point left. 2 more to go, wich shouldn’t be a problem atm, all my units are locked in combat save the 3 marauders and hellcannon. And I hadn’t lost a single breaking point yet! His turn, he stood still again, rallied the 3 xbows and started shooting. His anvil misfired but all was good. His canon grapeshooted my warriors and rolled 10.. and killed a whole lot.. 5+the bsb remained and now I was realy worried. His organ gun shot…. 2! Good I thought.. then he used the reroll ability and a 10 came up… f***k u are lucky on those artillery dices.. damn, only the bsb remaining and he is not within charge range of anything.. his grudges killed off my remaining 3 marauders netting him his second point Combat: my khorne warriors finished of his miners with ease stranding them infront of both the organ gun and the bloody canon.. this was gonna hurt.. my trolls and knights swang at the bsb unit taking them down to 5… bah bloody steadfast and dwarven discipline. Well new turn new possibilities my exalted challenged the slayer, and did 1 wound got none back. Phew… the slayer actually has a fair chance of killing him.. should have taken it with my general instead..



Turn 4

My khorne warriors wheeled towards his canon, hoping for the best. My hellcanon rampaged into the 3 xbows on the far far left :P gogo hellcanon! My bsb moved as close as possible to the canon and shit, hoping to survive a round of fire, no where to run and no where to hide, and that isn’t realy the khornate way either! Combat: my exalted killed of the freakin slayer. My knights and trolls killed the remaining 4 dwarfs, leaving only the BSB alive. Breaking him! Gogo 1k VP to me! Now, I remembered the vomit attack.. wich I regret on not using on his BSB. Oh well, no harm done both units still locked in combat leaving me with 5 points left. Although I was quite worried that he would actually take away the knights and the bsb breaking me aswell. My hellcanon killed his 3 xbows.His turn: his slayer charged my Tz warriors. His anvil misfired again, but no harm done. Shooting: canon blasted the BSB, taking 1 wound off him. His organ gun rolled a 10 again and killed him.. now I had to seriously hide the knights. His Grudgethrower took aim at the hellcanon and made 1 wound on it again. Combat: his slayer killed my exalted.. I fluffed all my attacks and all my saves. Bah! I was abit unsure about what to do now.. kill the BSB or not kill the damn thing.. I attacked with the knight and the horsie doing 0 wounds. Good. He attacked the troll and actually did 2 wounds. Even better! So I used the vomit attack cousing 0 wounds on the bsb, he held. We had plenty of time left so I wasn’t worried about that. Might call me a coward but this was actually damn cleverly done. He cannot shoot my 3 knights, and he cannot shoot my Tz either.. not that he can shoot them down anytime soon anyway..

His turn: everything shot at the hellcanon leaving him with 1 wound left, wich also was great! Combat, my champion challenged his slayer. My champ coused 1 wound the slayer killed my champ. Bah.. I blame the dice God… combat: my knight fluffed, the bsb fluffed my troll vomited cousing 1 wound.



Turn 5:

Same as turn 4 only no wounds where exchanged in either combat in either rounds.. shooting took down the hellcanon.



Turn 6. Well, this was it.. I had to kill the bsb and hope that the knights survived the 1 canon bullet and the str 5 thrower. Combat: his slayer made 1 wound on my lord, taking none in return.. bah again! My troll did nothing to the BSB. And he ran.. dammit.. only the trolls followed and captured him. Im not sure if my opponent was aware that he only needed to kill the knights to actually fetch off 1k VP points. Anyway, he shot some trolls and that was it. I was quite happy with the result bar the crappy overrun of the khorne warriors against the miners.had they run 2 more inches they would have run off the board, saving them from the grapeshot. Anyway a good lad and a good game. During the battle the result was kinda obvious exept that I didn’t count that the slayers would actually hold up my TW for 3 bloody turns. I rolled crap, but still. So dwarf of the match was defo the 2 slayers. Wich imo gave him 2 points.. win to me 18-2

6 shades

First off, basicly nothing he had had movement trays, so he used a lot of time moving the troops around, wich was bleh tbh. So this was 1 of the things I absolutely didn’t want to meet. An msu fast moving list, I have nothing to take them out with exept for taking them out in CC.. this game was more or less a boring game, with him moving back and forth with I could have won the game if I had abit more luck on my dicerolls..(trolls failing stomp on double 1’s) the main problem was the scenario deployment. My Tz warriors went left, my khorne right my trolls center wich forced me to have my general in MK instead of Tz warriors, and I couldn’t start to move forward like a steam train, I had to reposition before that and ofc that wasn’t gonna happen with all those small units standing everywhere. He basicly won because of the scenario and some very unlucky dicerolling from my side. It was a pretty boring game so im not gonna write a whole lot about it. My troll failed to stomp his warriors rolling a double 1.. had they managed to stomp 1 they could have sent both the warriors and the hydra instead of the otherway around.. and in my turn if the hydra didn’t run my KM could have gotten a rear charge on it and probably break it. The points he got from me was knights killed by warriors and shades with me fluffing my attacks. My TW destroyed by that 1 inch failed pursue getting 1 chariot clipping together with 5 cold ones in the flank.. bleh. He wasn’t realy stable on the rules, wich coused some discussions but I told him to ask the crew if he was so sure u couldn't ward save a killing blow(wich u can if anyone wondered). He was a good solid player tactical whise, cousing major problems for me. At the end I just sat there waiting for the time to go, wich realy didn’t go anywhere with him moving everything 1 model at the time tho:P Was a boring game, but not his fault that scenarios that puts everything on the board randomly isnt fun to play when u try to win some prices..!

Battle report 1 - HE scenario: Battleline

First match where against HE. Standard battle line scenario. I was abit scared until I saw the army he was using. Only 1 scary thing and that was the dragon. The swordmasters should go down to the hellcannon combined with a followup charge with the marauders.

shortwords: KM Khorme marauders. TW: Tzeentch warriors. KW Khorne Warriors

HE; List: Prince on star dragon with quite standard equipment
2x lvl 2 with fire/heaven dispel scroll , steal a power dice(heaven in spears fire in swordmasters)
2x10 archers
40 spearelves(spears/SE etc)
21 swordmasters (SM)
4 rbts
2 eagles

Against the HE i deployed pretty standard,
He deployed from my left to right;
1 rbt 10 archers 2x eagles 40 spearelves 2x rbt Swordmaster 1 rbt 10 archers

Turn 1


I go first, move everything up, not that afraid of getting shot at realy, positioned my KM so that the dragon had to charge them if he wanted to. Then I tossed some magic around, miasma -1 ish got through on his SM. The hellcanon shot at the dragon, direct hit…. AND a misfire… The cannon ate his crew as it was a munchy lunch.. His turn.. Everything went some inches forward, the dragon landed beside the marauder block and the eagles landed in charge range of my hellcannon. In the shooting phase 2 knights died to reapers, together with 2 KWs. In the magic phase he managed to throw a comet down, wich I misread so should have scrolled it instead. Anyway, in the shooting phase he fried about 15 KM with the dragons breathweapon. End of turn 1

Turn2


My 3 remaining Knights charges his 10 archers. That’s about it. The KM wheels to get their front to the dragon, same goes for the TW, the SMs are to far away to get off that charge on them together with the dragon. My KW goes up against his Spears readying themselves for a grind. The trolls just waits for the SM so that they can grind at them together with the warriors. Magic, miasma on both the SM and SE. quite nice. Now the interesting part, hellcannon fires again. Direct hit on the dragon! Wounds the lord he takes a ward save and fails it, 6 wounds= dead elf. The dragon gets slugged with 5 wounds, leaving him with 2! Now comes the realy sad part. My knights.. With asf and everything he hits first, scores some hits, and actually wounds with 2. “oh well, 1+ save, pieceofcake” but allas! They rolled up a double 1! And just to add up, I fluffed all the attacks, broke and was runned down.. Good going knights… oh well, about all the units I had left could still kill all of his without any major losses. Anyway, no point in crying over that! His turn2: He charged his dragon into my KM block, going for a desperate thing. He should have tried to charge the flank with his SMs first as they had to roll 10 on 2d6 to actually reach it.. wich they didn’t, leaving the dragon stranded in a sea of marauders(ok,not a sea anymore, a pond) he positioned his spearelves further into my KW and his eagles charged my hellcanon. Shooting did nothing to my TW and magic did nothing either, his comet went on to grow. In combat my hellcanon killed 1 eagle winning the combat and sending the other one fleeing. My marauders managed to take down the dragon before it got to hit back, removing the biggest threat leaving me in board control and giving me time enough to get miasma off on the SM before finishing them off.

Turn 3


So my KW charged his SE my marauders and TW wheeled around and moved towards the SMs. My plan was to sacrifice the marauders to wittle down that large block of asf hard hitting thing. My hellcannon rampaged towards the eagle, missing it with 1 inch, doh’! magic saw a rbt go down to pit of shades and miasma on the SMs, rest got dispelled. Onto the interesting stuff called combat! My KW champ challenged, and his lvl2 accepted. I think I coused 3 wounds on him or so with him scratching my chaos armor with his pointy nails leaving a mercy scratch on it! So he was about to attack with all his 40 horde spearelves. I thought this was gonna be abit painfull.. so he rolls and hit with 5! Kinda felt sorry for the guy, since it was his second game of 8ed and I basicly taught him the rules during that game. He took it with good sport and only shook his head! Since he didn’t kill anyone, I needed to kill 10 elves to take away his steadfast. My bsb killed 4 I belive, wooping 18 attacks hitting on 3s wounding on 2’s killing off a a total off 16! Breaking his steadfast way off and sending the pointy ears headlong back to the isle they came from! I pursued and ended up in the reaper.


After this there was only 1 more highlight. My TW and trolls charged the swordmasters in the front, my KM in the right side, my KW in the left side. The SM had WS 4 I 3 so was cut down to pieces.

Invasion 2010

So it was time for our gaming groups biggest happening of the year 2010, Invasion! 2 of us where going, me and Aleksander. Me with my WoC list him with his DE list. We played a ton of practise games, and the thing that worried me the most was the scenarios with random deployment. The tournament was as they said, a good start to learn 8ed since the edition is quite new to everyone. So we prepared as well as we could with learning the new rules and comping our lists basicly as good as an allround alltakers list could be.

Decent list imo, dont have loads of chosens nor warshrines, so no 2x 15 stubborn 3ws blocks. But the list can dish out some serious damage and take a good chunk in return. My main concerns where Lizardmen rumslann lists with tons of salamanders and sauruses and DE/HE lists. The other armies im pretty good covered against I was hoping to play Ogres and Orcs n Gobbos, since none of us realy play those armies it would be a nice change. And I was defo hoping to not play against my mate, since we play against eachother plenty of times outside the tourney. onto the Battle reps then!
